To be eligible for the Association’s aggregate beef cattle trophy you must have competed in a minimum of two affiliated shows in the group.  Cara Park competed in four shows in the association area and another further show in the western districts of Victoria during the 2018 show season.

“It’s an incredible result, to miss out on first place by only six points, considering we have such a small show team compared to other studs who can literally bring a truck load of animals to a show.” Commented Roslyn Curtis, stud manager of Cara Park Salers.

Cara Park’s prize winning show team was made up of a bull aged 18 months, an eight year old cow and her calf aged 9 months and a heifer who was 18 months old.

This team of four produced some spectacular results, which included numerous first and second place ribbons plus 7 Champion ribbons, 2 Reserve Champion ribbons, 2 Grand Champion ribbons and a Reserve Supreme exhibit.

“If it wasn’t for all the volunteers and organisers of our local shows we wouldn’t have them so a very big thank you must go out to the volunteers  for the time and effort they put in to make things run smoothly on show day so we can compete with our cattle.” commented Roslyn and continues to say “I am excited for this coming show season to see how competitive we will be and very hopeful for 2020 as there are some really nice calves in the paddock this year!”
