Salers cattle were involved in an education program on the 5th and 6th of May.  When nearly 60 secondary school students from approximately a 200 km radius around Mt Gambier participated in a two day education program run by the S.E. Cattle Handlers at the Mount Gambier Show grounds.  The aim of this dedicated group of beef cattle breeders is to allow students who have never handled cattle in a show environment the opportunity for hands on experience which they then can apply to their school animals in the school led steer competitions.
